Carriage Bolts Zinc: Carriage bolts have a round smooth head with a square neck under the head. The square neck keeps the bolt from turning as a nut is tightened. These bolts are low carbon (Grade 2) steel. The zinc coated are good for outdoor use, but not for use with treated lumber. If using treated lumber please go to Hot Dipped Galvanized Hardware.
